Directions for Head Scarfs

Step 1

Use a 42-45 inch square piece of fabric.

Cut into 4 equal pieces by cutting diagonally from corner to corner.

Double fold under edges "b" and "c" to create a hem.

Step 2

Cut a rectangle 3 1/2" by 13".

Match the center of the long edge of the rectangle and the center of side "a" on the scarf. Stitch together. Press.

Step 4

Cut a rectangle of batting the size of the rectangle.

Place between the scarf and the rectangle and the scarf.

Top stitch the two layers together on the two short sides and the unattached long edge.

Stitch (the long direction) through all layers on the rectangle about. 3/4" apart. This will create 4-5 rows of stitching to keep the batting in place.

Step 3

Double fold under the remaining sections of side "a" to finish the hem.

Single fold under the edges of the rectangle.

Bring the scarfs to sew day or to the guild meeting for further instructions on finishing.
