Kansas has a unique and interesting history.
This is Kansas’ story through Quilt Patterns and Blocks.

As our country moved westward, some
settlers’ WAGON WHEELS rolled-----

over the ROCKY ROADS TO KANSAS. During
the day they may------------- |

have seen flocks of WILD GEESE and herds
of buffalo. Camps were set up at- |

night under the STOCKTON GOLDEN NUGGET
and KANSAS STARS. -----
Some families decided to settle in Kansas. They may have lived |

in KANSAS DUGOUTS while building LOG CABINS.

Homesteads were established with barns
being erected, livestock purchased ----
and crops planted. |

Then as now it took perseverance to weather
the KANSAS TROUBLES. ------- |

TUMBLEWEEDS and DEVILS CLAWS, -------------------------------------- |

the social issue of temperance, (TEMPERENCE

PRICKLEY PEARS are just some of the problems.
Over the years our state-----
has seen its share of TORNADOS. |

Many things make Kansas unique: beautiful
blue skies, white picket fences, ---
and SUNFLOWERS. |

MEADOWLARKS, HONEY BEES, ORNATE BOX TURTLES,

BUFFALO are state symbols. RINGNECK PHEASANTS are a –
Common sight. HILLS AND VALLEYS at the RAONBOWS’ end
Is a beautiful sight to behold. |

WINDMILLS were once commonplace across
the plains. ------------------------ |

The rich soil has raised many bountiful
crops of CORN, WHEAT, -------------
CORN AND BEANS and sunflowers.
