December Meeting Cancelled.
Gift Exchange will take place at the January meeting.
Dear Crossroad Quilters
I'd like to wish all of you the best in the New Year. Thanks for your support
in the past few years that I've served as your President. I have really enjoyed
working with all of you. I'm looking forward to Susan adding new direction
and ideas to our club.
After visiting with some of the officers, we decided to postpone our Christmas
party till our January meeting. Hopefully, we won't have to contend with the
bad weather then, but we do have to remember that we live in Kansas! Our January
meeting is Jan. 21st, and will start at 6:30 p.m. We will have our potluck,
and gift exchange. See you there with one of your favorite recipes! Our old
officers will be in charge of setting things up. This will work out really
well, as Janie, Annette and Karen R had signed up for refreshments for the
Jan. meeting.
REMEMBER to bring your completed quilt TOP made with our 2007 BOM blocks. Those
who bring their quilt tops to the January meeting are eligible to win a $100
prize.
Membership dues of $15 are due this month. Please pay Marilyn Dryden at the
meeting, or send it to her at 855 H Road, Stockton.
January Sew Days are Jan. 9th in Plainville, and Jan. 12th in Stockton. We
will need to set up special sew days to work on our raffle quilt.
Happy New Year
and Happy Quilting!
Karen

Rescheduled Christmas Party
I have decided to challenge each of us a little bit this year. I have broken the year down into 4 sections. Each section will focus on a different technique. Each month will be a block that you could save and put with other blocks or you might decide to make a completed project based on that block. The first three months will be paper piecing blocks, then applique blocks, then some large blocks for fun and finally some blocks that are a combination of all three. I think many of the blocks will make great table runners, placemats, or small wall hangings, as well as full size quilts.
January's block is a simple Geometry 8" Block. http://www.quilterscache.com/G/GeometryBlock.html
1. Each participant is given ½ yard of Challenge fabric.
2. AT LEAST ¼ yard of Challenge fabric MUST be used in the project.
3. Challenge fabric can be altered to fit your project.
4. Embellishments may be added.
5. Project should be a FINISHED QUILTED item.
6. Project should be NO SMALLER than 18 inches.
7. Deadline is 2008 Fair. Projects will be displayed and voted on at our September 2008 Quilt Show for viewers choice.
8. Participants should HAVE FUN while working on their project!
9. If you are unable to complete the challenge, fabric should be returned.
