Karen called the meeting to order with roll call taken. Thirty-one members were present.
Karen stated that most of the charity quilts were finished at the Sew Day Saturday. Courtney and her friend shared the “tufting” technique which was a big hit.
Joan reported on the raffle quilt for the 2008 quilt show. They plan to do a strip row quilt.
Everyone was encouraged to check out the Quilt Book Library. We need to be sure to check out the books. We are still missing the “Quilting Through The Seasons” book.
A letter was read by Karen about the paper piecing table runner class. No
motion had been made last month to pay for the class.
A motion was made by Barbara to reimburse members the expense of the class
($100). Betty second. Motion carried.
A discussion was held concerning the amount that is paid for programs. Jana made a motion to table until next month. Motion second and carried.
Janie gave the financial report. Previous balance was $1631.18. Expenses brought before the group were $48.50 leaving a balance of $1576.27. Motion carried.
Janie reported that she received a call concerning the Antique Show to be held September 15-16. They wanted to know if anyone would like to do demonstrations or have a booth. A motion was made to table until next month. Motion carried.
Betty brought up that Twila would like us to have a quilt show during Memorial weekend. The group decided they would be unable to do this.
Sew days for the month of May were discussed. A motion was made to cancel the Stockton sew day for May. Motion carried.
Karen wanted to make sure that everyone is still thinking about how they will use their Lattice Square block for the fair booth next year.
Everyone was reminded to check their calendars if they are participating in the Birthday FQ swap.
The door price was to be brought by Kay but she was unable to attend the meeting. Jana will bring a door prize for next month.
The Fat Quarter drawing was won by Bertha. There were a total of 14. May Fat Quarter theme will be Flowers.
Next months meeting will be May 21. Ladies who signed up to bring refreshments are Joan, Elaine, and Diane.
