February Meeting Minutes
Karen called the February 19 meeting to order. After
refreshments we had show and tell. Many of the members showed beautiful quilts
and projects they are working on. Jan showed some of the quilts the club
are making for the oncology center and one of the quilts that will be made
for a fundraiser.
Janie gave the financial report. A motion was made by Linda and seconded by Elaine
to pay the bill. Motion carried. Karen reminded us about the Quilt Book Library.
We had committee reports and decided to table the chamber celebration.
The Fair Book changes were discussed and a few changes will be suggested. A motion
was made by Janie and seconded by Annette for the Quilt Guild to sponsor a “Best
of Color and Design” Award for the fair and have a $50 cash award. Motion carried.
We also were reminded about the Lattice Square block that will be the theme of
our fair booth and what our plans for the use of the block in the projects were
are making.
Janice reported on the food stand sale receipts from Joyce’s sale. Roger Morris
won the cake raffle. Linda donated the cake.
Please remove Jana in the Birthday FQ’s Club, replace her with Courtney.
The Crossroad Quilt Guild was well represented at the Quilting Fool’s open house
in Glade. Many of the members and their families won door prizes. Annette purchased
fabric for our charity quilts.
The Door prize was provided by Janie and won by Nikki. Elda won 19 FQ’s in the
Fat Quarters Drawing.
March sew days are Sat. March 10th in Stockton and Wed. March 14th in Plainville.
Next month’s meeting will be March 19th. Bettie, Janice and Jenny are the refreshment

We
made a motion at the last meeting to purchase items for our sew days. The following has been ordered: Cream Thread, Grey Thread, Pins, Machine
Needles, Sharpeners, Rotary Cutters, Replacement Blades, Rulers, Cutting Mats,
and Cushion Mats. Gladys donated two
irons.
