December Meeting Minutes

Everyone present enjoyed the Christmas carry in dinner of delicious food.  There were so many good dishes it was impossible to try everything.

Karen called the meeting to order with 32 members present and followed by roll call.  Janie gave the financial report. Dues are also due in the amount of $l5.00.

It was decided to continue the monthly Fat Quarter swap and Birthday FQ swap.  The Sew Days will also continue on the same present schedule.  Sew days for January will be Saturday, the 13th in Stockton and Wednesday the l0th in Plainville.   Come join us if you can!  We need to work on some of our Charity quilts so that we can get some done to donate to the Cancer Center.  Idona thanked everyone who helped with the quilt project for her husbands’ niece’s lap robes.

It was announced that Joan Shellito had passed away and funeral would be Thursday at l0:30.  A memorial was discussed.

The “I Spy” quilt will be presented on Wednesday at the High School for anyone wishing to attend.  Jenny will contact the Sentinel for pictures for the paper. We will also make an “I Spy” quilt to be raffled in March to raise money for the park project.  Jenny and Susan will be in charge of it.

Jana is also working on a web site for the Guild, which will include picture of quilts, schedule of events, books in our library and much, much more.  We will be excited to check this out.

Karen thanked Dorothy for checking out the quilt racks from Hays and Janie for picked them up and storing them for us.  Plans are being made for the next Quilt Show scheduled for 2008.

It was moved and seconded that we would have a challenge to make each monthly block and by the first meeting in January 2008, if the top is completed your name would be put in a drawing for $l00.00.  Jana asked if there was a preference as to the block of the month.

The Door prize was provided by Donna and won by Gladys.  Gladys’ name was also drawn for the Fat Quarters.

The January meeting will be January 15th.  Mary, Betty and Bertha will be in charge of the refreshments.

Following the meeting we had our gift exchange.
